This week, we welcome Fr. Richard Menees, returned from Egypt, to celebrate and preach. We will be continuing our study of Philippians. This week's verses call to mind the truth of Jesus as our currently risen, reigning Lord: "But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ" (Phil 3:20). We will celebrate this again in a few weeks (Christ the King Sunday), but it's always a good idea to remind ourselves that God is on the throne, and that we are waiting in hope for the consummation and renewal of all things.
Several songs and hymns of the day will focus on this theme (Praise My Soul the King of Heaven, Lo He Comes with Clouds Descending, Wait for the Lord). We will sing a few unfamiliar songs this Sunday. One is "Jesus Son of God":
Another newer song we'll be singing is "Worthy" by Matt Redman:
I look forward to worshiping with you on Sunday!
