The Encounter (Youth Group) The Encounter is our main weekly gathering on Sunday nights. Our gatherings are unpredictable, but we typically spend time just hanging out, worshiping (often through music), laughing (a lot!), talking about various topics vital to our faith, having fun serving our neighbors, and praying for each other and for the world around us.

Youth at the Elizabeth House Baby Shower at the Elizabeth House

We will be hosting a shower for Anna who is having a baby boy due Nov. 2nd. We are preparing a dinner for the members of Elizabeth House and providing desert during the shower. Youth at Union Rescue Mission The Encounter Youth Group will be participating in community service/ mission outreach at the Union Rescue Mission in downtown Los Angeles on
Friday, June 24 and Saturday, June 25.

We will be camping (tents) a few miles from the beach. We plan on hiking, kayaking, and spending a day at the beach.

Youth Retreats One of the most important things we do is to periodically retreat from the chaos of the world around us to have time with the Lord and with one another. These retreats can look like anything from a weekend on a challenging ropes course to less structured all-nighters at the church, but no matter what, we always come back refreshed by our time together as a community with the Lord. Youth Sunday School This is our Sunday morning gathering of the youth of St. Luke’s to learn about the faith, ask questions (lots of questions!), pray, laugh, and become more of a community drawing near to our God. We usually divide the junior high (7th and 8th) and senior high (9th through 12th) into two separate groups. (more info)

Youth Theater Outing On March 18th, after church we will head over to Azusa Pacific University to see "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying."
The play starts at 2:00pm and runs til 5:00pm.
We might do a "In-and-Out" run before the play.
Tickets are $12 and there only 15 available seats.
