Small Groups

You were made for relationship – relationship with God and with others! For many at St. Luke's small groups are the place where they connect with others, grow in faith, and build strong friendships that can last a lifetime.

Small groups are a place where you can:

  • Meet new people and make new friends
  • Get connected to a large church in a smaller setting
  • Grow in your faith through study and prayer
  • Experience fellowship and fun
  • Serve one another and serve together in the community
  • Support one another as you share in life’s joys, struggles, and everyday moments

Groups are generally formed around the location where they meet, the meeting day, or the stage of life of group members. There are groups meeting all around the area on almost every day of the week. We have a group for you!

Contact our Director of Small Groups, Don Duquette at 818-248-6494, dond@electrocube.com, or Kim Flowers at (626) 798-2298 to help you get started.

"Nehemiah-Standing Firm in the Face of Oppression" by Warren W. Wiersbe

Until then, below are some suggestions for group study:

BIBLE STUDY SUGGESTIONS

#1  “Genesis: Promised Land Living”  Christianity Today Intl – Study Through the Bible Series.  FIVE MEATY STUDIES – How do we take-hold of the promises of God / “take the land”.  How do we follow God wherever he leads, move forward in-faith, and realize God’s promises.  Fr. Rob would really like to promote this one as being exceptionally timely for St. Luke’s.  This study appears to have significant tie-in with our upcoming season of Christian Stewardship emphasis.  This study is available at no charge from our SLAC office – contact Kay Wisdom.

#2  N.T. Wright – 1st Corinthians – 13 Studies for Individuals  and Groups.  The ancient church in Corinth was placed in a very cosmopolitan / worldly setting.  Our modern setting / circumstances pose similar challenges for the church today.  Review / purchase this on-line or otherwise from the usual sources (Amazon / Christianbooks / Other).

#3  Todd Hunter – “Christianity Beyond Belief: Following Jesus for the Sake of Others”  A book based study.  How shall Christians live a life derived from and lived within the Kingdom of GOD, as cooperative friends and followers of Jesus Christ, living constant lives of creative-goodness, for the sake of others, through the power of the Holy Spirit, How shall we communicate the Gospel (of the Kingdom) / evangelize to a late/post-modern cultural context.  Review / purchase this on-line or otherwise from the usual sources (Amazon / Christianbooks / Other / www.toddhunter.org “Why Christianity Beyond Belief”?).
