Bishop's Summit: Preparing for Growth
December 3rd, 7:00 – 9:00 pm and December 4th, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
at St. James Anglican Church, Newport Beach.
This meeting will focus on helping each congregation grasp a vision of how we can be part of growing the Kingdom of God in our Diocese and Province.
Open to all laity and clergy.
At this Summit, presenters will speak to three basicmatters: Why it is biblically important that we grow, what church planting can look like, and how any congregation can take steps towards this kind of growth in a way that relates with their situation. The main speakers will be Fr. Tom Herrick, Fr. William Beasley, Pastor Richard Crocker and Bishop Todd Hunter.
The following is a quote from Fr. Chris Schutte of Christ Church Phoenix who met with Bishop Bill, Fr. Tom Herrick and some other rectors in September regarding this Summit:
“When I think about church planting I am often overwhelmed. However, after our meeting with Tom Herrick, I am excited. I will be bringing a team with me to St. James in early December so that our congregation can begin the important work of praying, listening and then acting on what God has given us to do.”
